Turkic Council attends Workshop devoted to 30th Anniversary of Independence of Turkic Republics

Bishkek, Feb. 25, 2021 / Kabar /. Turkic Council attended the Workshop entitled “Turkic Republics on the 30th Anniversary of their Independence: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, Opportunities and Challenges in Cooperation in Education and Science”, the Turkic Council reported.

The conference was co-organized by the Center for Strategic Research (SAM) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and the International Turkic Academy on 24 February 2021 in virtual format.

The opening speeches were delivered by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Yavuz Selim Kıran, Chairman of Center for Strategic Research Dr. Ufuk Ulutaş and President of the Turkic Academy Prof. Dr. Darhan Kıdırali.

Deputy Minister Kıran emphasized that the relations with the Turkic States in every field, strengthened from our common ties. Deputy Minister also stated the cooperation in such fields as culture, science, and education serve for further deepening the friendly and fraternal ties between Turkic peoples.

After the opening remarks, two sessions took place with the participation of Secretary General of TURKSOY Dusen Kaseinov, Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Sultanbek Raev, Founding Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Halil Akıncı, President of the Turkic Cultural Heritage Foundation Gunay Efendiyeva, Deputy Secretary General of TURKPA Ali Yildiz, Turkey Presidential Security and Foreign Policy Committee member Prof. Dr. Aygün Attar, President of the UNESCO National Commission of Turkey Prof. Dr. Öcal Oğuz, Ambassadors of the Member States of the Turkic Council, Rector of Cappadocia University Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Karasar and academicians where they made a presentations on the achievements of the Turkic States during the years of independence.

Deputy Secretary General Sultan Raev underlined in his speech the importance given to cooperation in the field of education and science on the work programme of the Turkic Council. Referring to the decisions of the Summits of the Turkic Council, Raev stressed the support of the Heads of States to the broadening of the “Orkhun Exchange Program”, as well as increasing the number of students and academics involved in the processes of “Educational Exchange Program” for education professionals and “3rd Student Exchange Program” among secondary/high schools students from the Member States.

Sultan Raev expressed his hope for the constructive outcomes of this Workshop to further contribute to the cooperation in the education field among the Member States.
