President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev attends the meeting.
“Before coming here, we carried out a thorough analysis. Easy to come and go. But the question is what benefit this will bring to the region’s 4 million population. Therefore, we started preparations a month ago. Yesterday I visited the districts, talked to people. All night long I thought about the future of Fergana. Economic risks, like the danger of coronavirus, are still with us. The crisis in the world has affected all countries. Finding a market has become a painful question. Therefore, we need to create new growth points and fully use the opportunities”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
An organizational issue was considered at the meeting. The Head of the state nominated Khayrullo Bozorov for the post of Hokim of Fergana region, Acting head of the region since September 2020.
Kh. Bozorov began his labor activity as a tax inspector in 1995. From 2007 to 2015, he worked as Deputy Hokim of Namangan region for socio-economic issues, Hokim of Uchkurgan, Chust and Mingbulak districts. In 2015-2020, he headed the Namangan region. Last year he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Economist of Uzbekistan.
“I have known Khayrulla Bozorov for many years. He was Hokim in three districts of the region. A very experienced, modern-minded, caring for the people, modest person. During the four months when he was Acting Hokim, you also managed to test him. Fergana needs such an educated and experienced person”, the Head of the state said.
People’s deputies, representatives of the older generation, youth spoke in support of the candidate. According to the results of the vote, Khayrullo Bozorov was approved as the Hokim of Fergana region.
The President also touched upon the work of the responsible persons of the district level, as well as the local problems.
“If the leader is modest, sincere, interested in people’s problems, eases their worries, respect for him will grow. You can’t gain authority just by sitting at a table and driving a car. What worries me most is that the leaders of the lower, district level do not take responsibility. If you use all the available opportunities correctly, unite the local representatives, many issues can be resolved in the district and the mahalla itself. The Hokim should not strive for a carefree life. He should devote himself to the cause”, the President said.
It was noted that hokims of Kuva, Uzbekistan and Yazyavan districts, as well as heads of some sectors, were dismissed for improper execution of their duties.
The President is delivering a speech on the tasks of the socio-economic development of the region, improving the living conditions of the population in the context of mahallas.
