Baku, December 15, AZERTAC

“The importance of energy security and resource diversification has re-emerged for the whole world, especially for Europe. As Turkiye, we have been taking steps in this direction for a long time. The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Southern Gas Corridor are of particular importance in this respect,” said President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan as he addressed the expanded meeting of the presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkiye and Turkmenistan in the city of Turkmenbashi.

“We are transporting Caspian gas to Europe through this corridor, the backbone of which is made up of the Trans-Anatolian natural gas pipeline. We should start working on the transportation of Turkmen natural gas to Western markets in the same way. We are ready to cooperate with our Turkmen and Azerbaijani brothers in the “Dostlug” field in the Caspian Sea. In addition, we attach great importance to the development of electricity exchanges in our region and between our countries. In this context, we are ready to work on the transportation of electricity from Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan to our country,” the Turkish President added.
