Kyrgyz Emergency Ministry, Doctors Without Borders sign MoU

BishkekApril 8, 2022 . / Kabar /. First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Azamat Mambetov met in Bishkek with Head of Doctors Without Borders representative office in Russia Stefan Grosse Ryskamp and Deputy Head Morag Hill.

In his speech, the first deputy head of the Kyrgyz Emergency Ministry welcomed the head of the organization and expressed gratitude for the fruitful long-term cooperation, the press service of the ministry reported.

“We appreciate your work and care for our citizens during the pandemic, when it was a very difficult situation throughout the country and for the humanitarian assistance provided in the fight against the coronavirus,” Mambetov said.

In turn, Stefan Grosse Ryskamp thanked Azamat Mambetov for the meeting, the success of multi-year cooperation, noting that the international organization is always ready to support the improvement of the ministry’s capacity.

The head of the organization expressed willingness to continue the fruitful cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding and expressed hope for the implementation of agreements reached and the successful cooperation.

Sadyr Zhaparov receives Minister of National Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar

Bishkek, June 30, 2021. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received today Minister of National Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar.

An exchange of views took place on the priority areas of bilateral cooperation in the military-technical sphere, security issues, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported.

The head of state emphasized that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey have laid a solid foundation for interaction in all spheres.

Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that the military-technical cooperation occupies a special place in the system of Kyrgyz-Turkish relations, which has many opportunities for further expansion and strengthening.

He said that given the unstable situation in the region and the growing threats, especially in connection with the complication of the situation in Afghanistan, military-technical cooperation is relevant and timely.

The president expressed his readiness to further develop and expand joint cooperation in the interests of peace and stability in both countries and in the region as a whole.

In turn, Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar conveyed greetings and best wishes from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

He stressed that the Turkish side is always ready to promptly resolve all existing issues and is in constant contact with the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Hulusi Akar added that within the framework of military cooperation, the issue of education and training of military specialists is also important.

The Turkish minister expressed readiness to continue fruitful interaction with the Kyrgyz side and to provide assistance in this direction.

Flight from Tashkent to Issyk-Kul opened

Tete-a-tete meeting of Sadyr Zhaparov and Emomali Rahmon

Bishkek, June 29, 2021. / Kabar / . Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a teteatete meeting in Dushanbe city.

In his speech, Emomali Rahmon stressedthat Tajikistan attaches great importance to the official visit of Sadyr Zhaparov and is sincerely interested in the creative development of bilateral cooperation between the countries, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported.

“Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan interact constructively on a multilateral basis and we are ready to discuss with you the state and prospects of the entire complex of our relations,” the Tajik leader said.

In turn, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude to Emomali Rahmon for the invitation to pay an official visit to Tajikistan.

The Kyrgyz leader noted with regret that the tragic events of April 28-30 this year were days of severe historical trials and grief for the people of the two countries.

“I would like to emphasize that both sides should not allow a repetition of the armed conflict in the future. The peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have always been brotherly peoples, the Kyrgyz and Tajik have always maintained good-neighborly and friendly relations,” he stressed.

Sadyr Zhaparov delivers specch at opening of Kyrgyz-Turkmen Economic Forum in Ashgabat

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Chary Gylydzhov, acquainted the head of Kyrgyzstan with the exhibition expositions, with the export potential of the country, represented by the gas and gas production, oil refining, chemical industries, the textile industry, as well as the spheres of construction, agriculture, subsoil use, etc.

Then, the opening ceremony of the Kyrgyz-Turkmen economic forum took place, at which Sadyr Zhaparov delivered a speech to representatives of government agencies and the business community of Turkmenistan.

First of all, Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to maintaining continuity in the development of strategic partnership with Turkmenistan, noting the good-neighborly nature of bilateral relations between the countries.

The president said that Kyrgyzstan pays close attention to issues of increasing investor confidence and creating a favorable investment climate in the country.

Also, the head of state emphasized the existing liberal legislative framework in relation to investment activities and the protection of the rights of foreign investors, which provides a number of preferences and incentives in various sectors of the economy.

Sadyr Zhaparov added, along with this, a number of bills are currently being worked out aimed at simplifying the procedures for the preparation, consideration and implementation of investment projects in the country.

He listed the investment advantages of Kyrgyzstan, including the presence of the GSP + status, which allows, in aggregate, to carry out duty-free import of more than 6 thousand items of goods to the countries of the European Union and the United States; membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, which opens up great opportunities for the export of products to the multimillion market of the EAEU member states on privileged terms; availability of available skilled labor, energy resources, liberal investment legislation and taxation system.

Sadyr Zhaparov expressed interest in exchanging experience and attracting enterprises of Turkmenistan working in the petrochemical, gas, and electric power industries to the Kyrgyz market.

The president highlighted one of the leading sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan – the textile industry, where large textile complexes, cotton spinning and weaving industries, garment factories, silk processing enterprises, shoe factories, factories for the primary processing of leather and wool operate.

The head of state called on Turkmen industrialists to open enterprises in Kyrgyzstan, where light industry is considered a priority industry, and to exchange experience with local businessmen.

The president said that Kyrgyzstan, as a country with water resources, has a huge potential in the field of renewable energy sources, which also opens up great prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation.

In addition, Sadyr Zhaparov focused on the further development of the tourism potential of the two countries, as well as interaction in the processing industry, agriculture and infrastructure.

The head of state also noted the importance of using the existing transport and transit potential of the countries, stressing the prospects of creating a joint Kyrgyz-Turkmen logistics company, which will help promote the export of Kyrgyz and Turkmen goods to world markets.

Concluding his speech, Sadyr Zhaparov called on the Turkmen business circles to consider Kyrgyzstan as a reliable business partner, and invited them to active cooperation and joint implementation of large investment projects.

The forum was attended by heads of large Turkmen enterprises producing export products.

Bishkek hosts conference “The experience of Communist Party of China in development of country and society”

Bishkek, June 25, 2021. / Kabar /. An international round table was held in Bishkek on the topic: “The experience of the Chinese Communist Party in the development of the country and society”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of its formation.

The organizers were Kyrgyz National University named after Balasagyn and the Public Fund “Kyrgyzstan-China Friendship Society”.

Within the framework of the conference, Chinese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Du Dewen, Rector of Kyrgyz National University, professor Kanat Sadykov, as well as professors and political scientists made presentations.

Summing up the results, the participants came to the unanimous opinion that the experience of the Communist Party of China should be developed and borrowed some aspects for the development of Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyzstan receives medical supplies from Khakassia

The Kyrgyz Embassy in the Russian Federation has worked out the issue of the unhindered delivery of humanitarian cargo through the relevant checkpoints of Russia and Kazakhstan, which arrived in Bishkek in June 2021.

According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Embassy, ​​the humanitarian cargo contains medical devices for various purposes for further use during the period of increasing incidence of COVID-19.

The aid was transferred to the Kyrgyz side on a gratuitous basis by public organizations of the Republic of Khakassia, the report said.

Uzbekistan exports 4.7 tons thsd tons of sweet cherry to Kyrgyzstan

Tashkent, June 25, 2021. / Kabar /. Uzbekistan in January-May 2021 exported 4.7 thousand tons of sweet cherries to Kyrgyzstan, according to data of State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Over the past period, Uzbekistan exported 27.6 thousand tons of sweet cherries in the amount of USD 43.4 million. This is 4.3 thousand tons more than in the same period in 2020.

In particular, cherries were shipped to Kazakhstan – 13.8 thousand tons, Russia – 8.6 thousand tons, Ukraine – 212.3 tons, Belarus – 142.2 tons, and Poland – 67 tons.

In January – May 2021, Uzbekistan exported cherries to 14 foreign countries.

Kyrgyzstan intends to supply duty-free fuel and lubricants from Kazakhstan

Bishkek, June 24, 2021. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan is working closely with Kazakhstan on a new agreement on duty-free supply of fuel and lubricants, Talant Mamateminov, head of the fuel policy department of the Ministry of Energy and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, told at a press conference at Kabar Agency.

He said that, now the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan is working closely with the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.

“Now we are at the stage of agreement. In the near future, it is planned to work out and sign a new agreement,” he informed.

Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh discuss issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation

Bishkek, June 23, 2021. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev discussed issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Jahangir Alam.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said that the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.

In particular, special attention was paid to raising the level of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. In this regard, the sides agreed on the need to create an Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation between States, the report said.

In addition, the foreign policy body indicated that the sides also stressed the need to develop cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian and scientific and technical spheres and to establish inter-parliamentary ties. “Particular attention is paid to the creation of joint ventures in the textile and clothing industry, the development of tourism, the expansion of the legal framework between the countries, the ministry explained.

During the meeting the sides also exchanged views on topical international issues of mutual interest.

The Kyrgyz minister expressed a request to support the candidacy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Human Rights Council for the period of 2023-2025 and non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for the period of 2027-2028, the Foreign Ministry said.

Following the results, the sides agreed to organize the first bilateral meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh on the sidelines of the international conference “Central Asia and South Asia: Regional Relationship”, which is scheduled for July 15-16, 2021 in Tashkent. Also, Bangladesh ambassador presented the copies of the Credentials to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
